Name's Brian, been around Dreamwidth for some time now, but was a long-time LiveJournal user before that. I'm bi, polyamorous, demi, and use he/him pronouns.

When I'm not at my day job, I'm a professional photographer as well as an avid board/tabletop/video gamer. I do occasional streaming of my art and my video game playing on Twitch. note that i have short-term memory loss, as well as memory issues in general, so you might expect me to repeat phrases or ask the same questions from time to time.

my primary fandom is identity v, and i'm most especially looking for people around my age to talk about it with. i can't play the game due to disabilities, but i'm super invested in the lore as well as fanfic writing.

Hi,to anyone who's reading this, I'm really really new to this site so at the moment I have those weird first day at school butterflies you get from stepping into a new place for the first time and not knowing anybody! I feel excited at the thought of making some new friends and getting to know them, what their interests and thoughts are.

I'm a middle aged lesbian who has been a bit of a good girl/bad girl all her life as far as relationships go but I have settled down a lot now and live in Essex, England with my current partner. I love to write which is why I'm so attracted to this site and I love doing art too, so sometimes I just write and other times just draw but I also often combine the two to make webcomics. It's always been my way of exploring a lot of LGBT thoughts, feelings and fantasies etc which were buried inside me at a time when I was too nervous to share with people who didn't know I was gay and those who knew but weren't interested!

I love psychology and how people think, act, and react differently to each other. I love to see how different people interact and how one's choice of words can make such a difference to a single sentence. I think that probably comes across in my writing but I love to see it in other people's too. I'm much more vocal on paper than I am in real life. I'm a pretty quiet person on the whole and don't like to be the focus of too much attention far more of an observer than a party person but I think that's probably an advantage when it comes to writing as it often feels other people are doing it for me.

I've been told by my dearest friends that I talk too much when I'm nervous so I'd better stop here. I'm not even sure if I've written the write thing but this is kinda how I am.

I look forward to meeting you and sharing more stuff over the coming weeks depending on how this goes.

Edit: As of June 2023, I moved back home and am no longer living in the facility. I managed to come out to one person while I was there (there were 2 others I should have come out to).

So I'm one of the LiveJournal carry-overs that genuinely didn't know this site existed until I was told it was possible to back up my old journals on here. I saw that this was the most popular LGBT group on this site so...here goes.

Literally the first few words of my bio are 'I'm Goth and Non-Binary' but I have questioned the latter part of that statement and whether or not I'm more of a classical transgender (I'm drunk, sorry if this doesn't make any sense). I see myself as Demisexual and I'm interested in this particular part of the site for just friends.

I don't really know what else to say.

Hello friends!

I'm gay guy in my early 30's from the UK but living in Germany. I'm not new to online journaling at all and had an LJ for years but decided to come back recently and thought I'd give DW a go.

I like languages, travelling, independent cinema (although I don't watch enough of it), different kinds of sport (although not usually the team kind), cooking and trying to get back into reading.

I'm gonna get pretty deep and personal here on DW so for that reason I'd prefer people who are open-minded about say mental health and sexuality.

Anyway I hope you're all well, and hope to add some of you here and get to know you.

I’ve literally just joined up, however I used to have a LJ account as a teenager. I’m now a twenty something (closer to a Thirty something!) and I figured why not get back into writing. As my name suggests I’m a bit of a nerd. I love reading, video games, fangirling, anime, cartoons, animals travelling, learning, languages and culture. I also LOVE everything about women.

I have GAD and I’m generally quite shy and quiet however I like chatting to others online and can have wonderful moments of spontaneity and fun. My interests vary a lot and I don’t always like or have interests in things ‘expected’ of a self-named nerd (for example I don’t like Harry Potter) but I do like learning new things and obsessing about current interests.

I’m not too scary I promise and I will always say hi back. So I guess if your interested in anything come and say hi

I'm a queer female, currently living with and engaged to another lovely woman, badkarma, who comes up fairly often in my journal posts because we're best friends as much as lovers, and end up doing most activities together. Here's a quick run-down of me that will probably fail to give any sort of real indication as to what you'll find in my journal, but I figure I should try:

INTERESTS: Music, theology (specifically Hinduism in all its forms), literate roleplays, writing/reading, playing the clarinet (although I've been neglecting mine lately), freshwater aquariums, anatomy, strange facts, Doctor Who, Star Trek (TNG and DS9 mainly), The Beatles, George Harrison, Poets of the Fall, Community, Barenaked Ladies (an interesting name for a band considering this comm), select other fandoms that I can't think of...

HOBBIES: Roleplaying in literate roleplays (seriously, I love both getting inside character's heads, and I love the freedom of writing as ridiculously as I'd like at length~), ocassional graphic- or icon-making, reading, going for walks, ~~window~~shopping with friends.

ANYTHING ELSE?: I'm a licensed massage therapist, and I've often been called a hippie (though I'd like to think I shower more than that). I'm mostly of European descent but I love Eastern religions and philosophies, so if that sort of thing squicks you, turn back now. ;) I had a lot of issues with coming to terms with life/death/the meaning of life when I was younger, and discovering Hinduism and my own 'roots' more has really helped me with that. I love languages and will often either lament the lack of francophones around me, or mention trying to learn another one. I've moved over from LJ in the hopes to get a new start around friendlier people, and to help support a site that's run under better intentions (in keeping with my policy of supporting smaller businesses as opposed to mass corporations).

My name is Charlotte, I'm 25 years old and currently living in the UK (I originally come from Hoquiam, WA). I am not working right now (but am looking for work!) although I am studying Psychology and I also work as a volunteer community support worker. I am interested in lots of things, from music, art, movies and pretty much all things creative, to cooking, health and fitness. Although I should say that overall, music is the main thing I am really passionate about. To me, music is also a form of therapy and I'd be lost without it. :)

I am someone who comments often and updates pretty regularly and I would like friends who are similar so that we can get to know each other and hopefully establish some good friendships along the way. I am open-minded, honest and very loyal to my friends.

I am a woman who was so unfortunate as to have been a boy. Still working on affording the name change and surgeries. This gets a little confusing in the bedroom, but as I have had only cats in my bed for over two years, it doesn't much matter, anyway.

I call myself "hyperintelligent". Most people think that "smart people" think exactly as they do, only faster. This is not strictly true. Those who choose to associate with me would do well to be prepared for connections, conclusions, and a general mode of thinking that might be attributable to a visitor from the planet Narschmalcapaz.

Many people call me a pompous ass. See previous point.

I seek to communicate with those who:

A) Have IQs greater than their ages, and

B) Are open to the novel and unconventional.

I trust that the greater number of those who visit this forum fulfill these criteria, so we all should be quite safe.

My name is Kit, and I'm a writer. Which I guess is kinda obvious from my username, huh? I write SF, Fantasy, and Horror, often with queer themes.

I'm a Kinsey 4 (bisexual, slanted toward lesbian.)

I worked at Borders for almost 10 years, before I was laid off when my store closed. I haven't been able to find anything else in the past year and a half, so I'm back living with family: my mom, my sister, and my two nephews, ages 17 and 9.

The cat in my icon his Hobbes; she's going to be 17 in a little under a month, but she's still my sweet little fuzzy baby. (Even when she's being a grumpy old lady.)

A year ago, I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder; a few years before that, I was told I had Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I've known about the PTSD since I was in my teens.

I watch way to much TV, but I love getting out there and playing sports, going for walks, or just having adventures. I love art, especially anime and manga. I never get to travel but I would love to. I'd tell you my favorite food but I can't seem to decide what it is, but I do love to drink lemonade.

I believe in fun and living life to the fullest. Discrimination and haters in general make me sad and I believe in equal rights for all, regardless of sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, or anything else you can think of. The world is really much more interesting all mixed up. After all, who wants a fruit salad with just bananas?

I'd love to get to know some cool people here who gladly accept me for who I am.

Hi everyone! I've finally decided to stop being lazy and see if I can make more friends on DW.

My name is Parker, and this is my third (and final) journal on Dreamwidth. Previously, I was larxene and evenfall, but as I struggled with my gender identity I found myself making a new journal to give myself room. I'm 21, white, trans* (female to male), queer, and I live in South Carolina.

Currently I'm working towards getting my bachelor's degree in Women's and Gender Studies (IDS programs ftw), and I plan on going to graduate school as well. My main focus is on gender studies, and lately that has narrowed down to masculinity studies. I don't think I would be considered an academic, but I'd like to be. Someday.
